As an all-through Academy Iceni Academy Methwold shares a LAC (Local Academy Committee) with Iceni Academy Hockwold.  There are six full LAC meetings a year which provide additional accountability.  There are no sub-committees.

Alex has worked in Higher Education (HE) for over 4 years and has experience in developing policies and procedures, supporting students and academic staff, and implementing quality assurance processes. Alex is currently a Partnerships Manager at UEA and acts a relationship manager for partner institutions whereby the University validates HE provision. She is keen to draw on her experiences of HE and make a positive contribution to young people’s educational journey. Alex enjoys spinning, running and baking in her spare time.

Emma Owner

Principal (Hockwold) – Ex Officio Governor

Emma feels very privileged to be the Principal of the primary site at Iceni Academy. She feels passionately that all children should enjoy school and be immersed in the awe and wonder of the new experiences and opportunities that we can provide them. In her spare time Emma likes to go walking with her dog, socialise with her family and friends, and read. Emma has two wonderful grown-up children and her husband, who she likes to spend weekends with. Emma’s favourite drink is green tea!

Lesley Hogg

Principal (Methwold) – Ex Officio Governor

Lesley has worked at a range of academies throughout Norfolk. Originally a mathematics teacher, Lesley has also led departments, a sixth form and work involving pupil premium provision. She also has experience in developing curricula and exploring the impact of cognitive load and working memory research. She is certified as an SLE and enjoys working in collaboration with other academies on school improvement work. Lesley has 4 children, and enjoys swimming, walking and supporting Wales at Rugby.

Victoria Slade

Staff Governor (Hockwold)

Quality of Education (Primary) Governor

Vicki is the teacher for Beech Class at Hockwold (Years 4 and 5) and has worked for the academy since 2015. She is the deputy designated safeguarding lead and coordinates science, computing and RE for the primary site. Vicki lives with her husband, two cats, six chickens and an ever increasing number of house plants. She is very proud of her three grown up daughters who between them have completed a number of degrees and travelled the world. In her spare time, when Vicki isn’t catching up with news from my daughters, she likes to grow things in her greenhouse, go to an occasional yoga class and has a passion for household gadgets.

Adele Pacini

Personal Development Governor

Adele is a Clinical and Research psychologist who has worked across a range of public sector organisations for the past ten years. Adele is currently the project lead on a mindfulness for later life project delivered via the Gatehouse Charity in Bury St Edmunds, and an Associate Lecturer for the Open University. She has a background in quality assurance and is an external expert for the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher education and Ofqual. She lives locally with two young children, several chickens, a few sheep and a couple of horses and is keen to work with the Iceni Academy to offer a high quality education for local children.

Matthew Jordan

Matthew work’s at Freebridge Community Housing in the accounts department. Matthew is currently studying to achieve an AAT qualification, and is hoping his experience and knowledge can be used to make a positive contribution as a governor.

Mike has two grandchildren at Iceni.  He is a former manager of a military engineering training school and passionate for the furtherance of accessible Education and Learning for all; nurturing the development and aspirations of staff and students alike.  With a military and engineering background, Mike is keen to engage with the Community in which the academy serves and make a positive contribution to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discussions.  Mike enjoys walking, particularly with his two dogs, as well as cycling, socialising and networking.
